Akpororo is a Nigerian stand-up comedian, vocalist, and actor who goes by the stage name Bowoto Jephthah Oluwatiseyifumi Tanimola. He was born in Warri, Delta State, in 1989, but grew up in Ilaje, Ondo State. He grew up and received his education in this town. Akpororo started his illustrious career as a gospel performer. He’d competed in several comedy competitions. He had no intention of making humor his full-time career at the moment, but he grew to like it over time. In the National Comedy Challenge, he competed. He took first place in the Calabar Zone of the competition. He proceeded to Lagos for the final round of the competition, but he did not win the competition overall. In 2009, Akpororo relocated to Lagos, where he competed in the AY’s Open Mic Challenge twice, finishing second the first time and winning the second.
After appearing on “Basketmouth’s Laff and Jam” in 2013, he went on to appear on many comedy shows, including “AY Live.” He stands 5’7″ tall. He performed “Akpororo against Akpororo” at the Shell Hall, MUSON Centre, on August 12, 2014. Several well-known musical artists and comedians attended the inaugural event. Akpororo made his acting debut in 2014, playing in the films Headgone and The Antique, the latter earning him three Golden Icons Academy Movie Award nominations. He frequently makes jokes on religion and culture, as well as politics and other topics. He enjoys singing as well as doing stand-up comedy. He hasn’t given up on his gift, and he frequently plays evangelical music. Akpororo acknowledges that just because he became famous through humor does not mean he has abandoned his love for religious music. He inked a two-year sponsorship agreement with Airtel in June 2015.
